Honest Design:
Purchase in confidence knowing the process used to produce each lamp are SUSTAINABLE not only to the ecological environment, but also to the worker making each lamp – me, a recent graduate from NC State’s College of Design.
Entirely 3D printed (electrical components aside) advanced processes allow for virtually zero waste of a plant based renewable material. Additionally, each lamp is made to order which eliminates needless and harmful overproduction.

3D Printing:
3D Printing is an additive manufacturing process which extrudes filament through a hot nozzle in layers that are a fraction of a millimeter in height. Layer by Layer the extruder lays down filament corresponding to measurements which fall on a coordinate grid until the design is complete. Each Monument lamp takes over 9 hours to complete.

NOTE: On the back left corner of every lamp base you will find what is called a Z Seam. Much like a seam in clothing represents the intersection of a start and end, a Z Seam in 3D Printing is the evidence of a similar process and should not be considered a defect. The Orb Shade is seamless and does not have this detail.

Elevated User Experience:
By taking advantage of the attributes of 3D printing and utilizing Rare Earth Magnets the MONUMENT Lamp is easily assembled and modular, allowing compatibility to future iterations of the shade / base.
