Psalm Amidst Restlessness

God save me from my old self in my moments of restlessness where the landscape of the moment feels desolate and futile. Transform every element of my being to quicken toward you, resting in your perfect love, strengthened, by your grace alone, in my steadfastness as I wait for your timely word. 

Multiply in me my will to will only the good and perfect things that flow from your character. Incline my heart ever toward you. Strip me of all vanity, of all lustful desires, of selfish ambition and pride. Humble me with your presence. And forgive me when, in lapses of trust, I misunderstand your eternal plan for which I am unworthy, yet thankfully and with constant praises learn to carry my cross and seek to do everything you have for me to do. 

Bless me Father. My strength you provide. My heart you have blessed. My mind you have corrected. My friends you have provided. I am not alone. Everything I have ever wanted is found in you. I look to none other for perfect counsel or righteous encouragement. Humble me with friends to show me when I’m blind. Let my heart grow daily in my capacity to Love. For patience, kindness, to bear and endure all things, kissing the rod of affliction that brings truth to my character and teaches me your statutes.

I entrust all I care for and worry for to you. Bless them Lord. Create in them ears for listening and a heart for perfect obedience. Let us learn to forgive as we have been forgiven and bless us continually with more and more sensitivity to your grace which allows us to recognize our sin and to repent, turning from it and leaving it behind as a sacrifice of obedience. Sharpen my desire for good and perfect things and let me be steadfast and single minded. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness. Morning and Night.
